PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism for controlling driving of a magnetic medium or magnetic head by forming a memory band for which a magnetic material is used into an annular shape. CONSTITUTION:A reading out/writing control device 6 makes reading out of data from a cylindrical magnetic memory medium and writing of the data to the medium through a magnetic head 4 when the cylindrical memory medium is rotationally driven by a rotational driving shaft 3 mounted as shown in the figure. The rotational driving shaft 3 is made to rotationally drive the cylindrical magnetic memory medium as it is in the same direction in the case in which the reading out/writing control device 6 checks the writing after the writing of the data. Then the magnetic head 4 meets again with the start point for data writing on the memory band 2 and therefore the reading out/writing control device 6 is simply required to start the reading out at the point of said time.
