The clip magazine for rifles having the Model 98 repeater system is characterised in that a plug base is fitted to the magazine at the bottom, on which plug base in each case one front lock and rear lock (which can be pushed into the grooves in the magazine box of the weapon) are arranged such that they can be displaced longitudinally, and one or more slides are provided on the outside of the plug base, which slides are rigidly connected to the two locks through one or more recesses in the plug base. The clip magazine according to the invention can be used without any modification to the basic weapon, in its magazine box. The costs for conversion to the clip magazine are thus minimal.
