The vibration-generating drive is provided for a screening machine for dewatering and/or classifying granular substances such as gravel, sand, coal, ore or the like. The screening machine possesses a screen frame which is mounted on a machine bed and is provided with a vibratory drive. The vibratory drive possesses an excentric shaft 2 on which a yoke 1 is mounted so as to be non-rotatable. At the end facing away from the excentric shaft 2, an unbalanced segment 3 is arranged on the yoke and is driven in the opposite or same direction of rotation as the excentric shaft. If appropriate, an adjustable additional weight 5 is disposed on the yoke 1. <IMAGE>
