The invention relates to a dust extraction device for rotary grinding machines with a grinding disc mounted on an output shaft of the machine, the device consisting essentially of a dust-collecting bell, which is connected to the grinding machine, surrounds the grinding disc peripherally and on the machine side and has a dust-discharging channel connected to it, and of a radial fan, arranged in the bell and rotating with the disc, for generating the air flow required to extract the dust, in which device - a flow-directing element (3) is arranged between the upper side (53), facing the grinding machine (7), of the grinding disc (5) and the fan (6) and surrounds at least the upper part (53,54) of the grinding disc (5) concentrically, at a distance therefrom, forming an annular channel (82), - the fan-side end (82') of the annular channel (82) is constructed as an axial inflow opening for the radial fan (6), - the interior (83) of that part (22) of the bell (2), surrounding the fan (6), widens spirally, and - the dust-discharging channel (23) is constructed leading off tangentially from the bell (2) in the region of the largest spiral radius in the direction of rotation of the fan (6). <IMAGE>
