The known apparatus has two lateral angle profiles with three longitudinally slotted channels arranged one above the other. Bridge members consisting of aluminium and synthetic rubber engage into the channels. The bridge members consisting of synthetic rubber are located above the bridge members consisting of aluminium. Three channels are thus provided in order also to be able to install the angle rails with the vertical legs downwards. An apparatus of this type is comparatively high in construction and cannot be installed into special screeds. In order to make this possible, the invention provides two rectangular anchor strips 6 which are screwed to flat rails 4 fastened on the joint edges 3. The channels 9 for the bridge members 10, 11 are located approximately halfway up the anchor strips 6. Upper and lower sides 14, 16 of the bridge members 10 are located in one plane with the upper and lower sides 8, 15 of the anchor strips 6. Sealing sheets 17 can be fixed in a watertight manner between the anchor strips 6 and the flat rails 4. <IMAGE>
