PURPOSE:To obtain an easily machinable inexpensive valve by forming a build-up groove previously in the seat face of the umbrella section of a mashroom type intake/discharge valve then forging and building up a metallic material. CONSTITUTION:A mashroom type intake/discharge valve comprises a valve shaft section 1 and an umbrella section 2, and when it is molded through forging, a groove 4 for building up metal is formed previously in the seat section 3. When a member is produced through forging, an abrasion resistant metal 5 is built up in the groove 4. Since the forged product requires no machining such as cutting, the manufacture of valve is facilitated.
