PURPOSE:To prevent jam, by discharge a recording paper sheet to the outside of a device when the length of it is not normal based on the period of time during which the recording paper sheet passes from its front edge to its rear edge. CONSTITUTION:As soon as a paper sheet sensor 21 mounted on the lower portion of a platen drum 1 senses the front edge of a first recording paper sheet 3a, a revolution sensor 18 starts. When the paper sheet sensor 21 senses that the amount of rotation on the circumference of a platen drum 1 effected by a drive motor 17 exceeds the total length of the recording paper sheet, it is determined that paper sheets are fed in an overlapped state and printing is interrupted. Then, the front edge of the recording paper 3a is fed to the vicinity of the lower portion of a roller 8 and it is discharged to the outside of a device by operating a paper sheet discharging unit 16. As a result, jam caused by feeding overlapped paper sheets can be prevented.
