PURPOSE:To improve a starting property by preventing the supply of a large current to a glow plug based on an engine speed and an increased engine speed within a defined period of time. CONSTITUTION:When the engine speed of a Diesel engine 1 which is obtained by the output of a revolution sensor 28 becomes above a defined engine speed in the revolution detecting circuit 48 of a preheating control circuit 10, or when the increased amount of the engine speed during the cooling time of a glow plug 4 obtained from the revolution sensor 28 and a counter 45 is above a defined value in an increased revolution detecting circuit 50, a signal which is inverted to a low level is outputted to one of the input of a three-input NOR gate 47. Thereby, the output of the three-input NOR gate 47 becomes a high level, without carrying out the supply of a large current to the glow plug 4 via the contact 7a of a main relay 7. Accordingly, the glow plug 4 is prevented from being electrified under a condition that the Diesel engine 1 is about to be started, preventing the lowering of the voltage of a starter 24.
