A device for the injection of a two-phase mixture comprising fuel and carrier air into the intake pipes assigned to the individual cylinders of a multicylinder mixture-compressing internal combustion engine has a carrier air distributing device (9, 10, 11), which distributes a carrier air flow, derived from the intake line and delivered by an air pump, to injection lines (7, 8) separately assigned to the individual cylinders of the internal combustion engine. In addition, a fuel injection valve (2) is provided, which injects the fuel by way of separate injection nozzles (4) into the individual injection lines (7, 8). The carrier air distributing device has a carrier air collecting chamber (11), formed in a housing (5) accommodating the injection valve (2) and annularly enclosing the injection valve, which collecting chamber is connected on the one hand to the air pump and on the other to the injection lines (7, 8). In order to ensure a distribution of the carrier air to the individual injection lines which is as exact and uniform as possible, it is proposed that a carrier air reservoir (9), likewise annularly enclosing the injection valve (2) and connected to the carrier air collecting chamber by way of a connecting line (10) of narrowed cross-section, be provided between the carrier air collecting chamber (11) and the injection lines (7, 8). <IMAGE>
