Drying and curing of goods in the meat and sausage goods industry is unsatisfactory, as when the goods are stored in containers with closed floors, only half of the surface of the goods comes into contact with the air in the cooling chamber, juice contained by the goods drips out of containers with holes and a multiplicity of different containers are required for transport and storage. These disadvantages are eliminated by the drying container which is formed by a vertically standing part which forms the side walls, holding devices, two grids and an interposed liquid-absorbing and air-permeable nonwoven fabric, and is designed in such a way that it can be used both as a transport and as a storage container.
