The invention relates to a motor chain saw with an endlessly circulating saw chain comprising articulately interconnected chain links and having formed-on guiding members for guiding the saw chain on a chain saw guide bar (chain blade), at the motor-side end of which a drive wheel for the chain is provided. In the motor chain saw, provision is made, in the chain-circulating region of the saw guide bar (2), for the chain (3) to be guided, supported on the running faces (7) of rollers (5) mounted on rolling bearings, and for the guiding members (16, 17, 36, 37) to be arranged on the chain links (8, 9) so as to engage on the rollers (5) laterally, as a result of which it is possible for the lateral guidance and supporting of the chain in the saw chain-circulating region of the saw chain guide bar to be maintained, while at the same time avoiding the friction between chain and guide bar hitherto associated with this. <IMAGE>
