Bending apparatus for the permanent connection of metal sheets, characterised in that, due to its particular configuration, which may be as desired, a power-guided ram sets in motion and/or acts on a plurality of other parts of the apparatus during its movement in one direction in such a way that a permanent connection is produced and the movement of the ram in the opposite direction moves the abovementioned parts of the apparatus back into their starting position.
