The device for the metered dispensing of plastic compositions has a pressure piece (4) acted on by hydraulic fluid and a piston rod (5) connected thereto. The piston rod (5) can be telescopically inserted into a cylinder (6) and the latter in turn into a further cylinder (9). The pressure piece (4) connected to the piston rod (5) acts on a forcing-out plunger (3) of a cartridge (2) for forcing out the composition. The piston rod (5), the cylinder (6) and the further cylinder (9) are connected to one another via a tension element (14) which delimits the displacement paths of the individual parts with respect to one another. By virtue of the fact that the parts such as piston rod (5), cylinder (6) and further cylinder (9) can be telescopically slid one inside the other, a short construction of the device is achieved. <IMAGE>
