PURPOSE:To measure the amount of creatinine accurately and handily, by using a first reagent comprising an alkaline aqueous solution containing hydrogen peroxide and a second reagent containing picric acid. CONSTITUTION:An alkaline aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide or the like containing hydrogen peroxide as an agent for conversion to a bilirubinic acid is used as a first reagent and a picric acid aqueous solution as second reagent to measure changes in the absorbance with a reagent blank as control. The hydrogen peroxide shall be within a range of 0.1-2mM/l with respect to the first reagent an alkaline aqueous solution. This eliminates effect of bilirubine thereby enabling accurate and handy measurement of the amount of creatinine while allowing application for automatic analysis.
