PURPOSE:To obtain an imitation leather having excellent surface characteristics such as stain-resistance, water-resistance, abrasion-resistance, etc., by forming a resin layer modified with a specific modifier on a surface of a substrate sheet. CONSTITUTION:A surface of a substrate sheet composed of various woven fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, etc., is coated with a resin layer having a thickness of about 0.1-100mu and composed of (A) a modifier having free isocyanate group and produced by reacting a silicone compound having reactive organic functional group (e.g. silicone oil modified with amino, epoxy, etc.) and (B) a resin having a group reactive with said isocyanate group (e.g. vinyl chloride, resin, vinylidene chloride resin, etc.). Various characteristics can be attained by selecting the resin component of the resin to be modified. Especially, a defect of conventional imitation leather, i.g. bleeding of a resin additive to the surface of the resin layer can be suppressed and excellent surface durability can be attained.
