PURPOSE:Raw tea leaves are agitated and rinsed with bubbles in a tank where the water path is formed with partition walls, scooped out with a belt conveyor and subjected to finish washing whereby tea leaves are simply and inexpensively cleaned without mechanical damage to the leaves. CONSTITUTION:In the tea leave washer, the tank 3 is partitioned with walls to form the water flow path and pipes 19 having a plurality of air-jetting nozzles 20 are set on the bottom of the path. A belt conveyor 4 are set at an angle so that the lower end dips in the water on the end of the water path. The pipes 19 are connected to an air pump 21 and the start and the final ends of the water path are connected to the recycle path (pipe 12). A pipe having a plurality of water-spraying nozzles are set along the belt conveyor 4. The belt conveyor 4 projecting out of the tank 3 are covered with water-recovering chute 29 at its lower part and the recovery chute 29 is connected at its bottom end through the guide chute 30 to the first filter 31. Further, the second filter 32 is connected through water-feeding pump 32 and pipe (28) to the water- spraying pipe 26.
