In a method for the feed of fibres in an open-end friction spinning apparatus which contains an intermediate transport element between a spinning zone and a feed device for the separated fibres, provision is made for the fibres to be transferred to the transport element in such a way that the fibres butt with the front ends against the transport element, by which these front ends are held and taken up, whilst the rear ends, when they leave the feed device, are deflected in such a way that they fly over the front ends and only thereafter come to rest on the transport element.
