The invention relates to a piston-cylinder unit with a piston (9) guided in a manner which allows it to be displaced in an axial direction in the cylinder (5). Arranged on the outer circumference (22) of the piston is an encircling groove (20) in which there is a sealing ring (21) which seals off the piston (9) in relation to the cylinder (5).
