The apparatus for protecting the cage to stop at undesired floor comprises a position sensor (6) detecting the plate (20) placed at each floor in the cage channel, a cage position arithmetic unit (1) calculating the cage position by the moving distance of the cage, an auxiliary arithmetic unit (4) subsidising the output of the unit (1) by checking the sensing operation of the sensor (6), and a fault detector (5) detecting the sensor performance. |
