<p>The invention relates to a process for the transport of heavy oil wherein an emulsifier-containing oil-in-water emulsion with at least 10-15% of water is transported and subsequently separated again into crude oil and water. The emulsifier employed is a carboxymethylated oxalkylate of the formula R-(O-C3H6)m(OCH2CH2)nOCH2COOM wherein R is saturated or unsaturated, linear or branched aliphatic residue of 6-20 carbon atoms, an alkylaromatic residue to 4-16 carbon atoms in the alkyl group, a dialkylaromatic residue of, in total, 5-20 carbon atoms in the alkyl groups, or a trialkylaromatic residue of, in total, 7-24 carbon atoms in the alkyl groups, m is 1 to 30, n is 1 to 40, and M is an alkali or alkaline earth metal ion or ammonium.</p> |
