The warp-knitting machine is provided, for the purpose of producing double-sided gap-free pile-loop knits, with a row of crochet needles held in a bar, with a binding-warp thread guide rail, with front and rear pile-loop holders arranged between the needle bar and this guide rail, and with weft-thread guides arranged in the gap between the front and rear pile-loop holders and displaceable in the direction of the needle row, as well as with a further pile-thread guide rail arranged respectively between the needle bar and the rear pile-loop holders and between the binding-warp thread guide rail and the front pile-loop holders. The purpose of the invention to increase the productivity of the warp-knitting machine is served by the object of laying the weft threads directly under the needles by means of the weft-thread guides, this being achieved, according to the invention, in that the weft-thread guides are designed as perforated needles and are held in a bar which is displaceable not only in the direction of the needle row, but also perpendicularly to the plane of the needles for laying the weft threads under and, in the angle between the rear pile-loop holders and the front pile-thread guide rail, is pivotable about a centre of rotation above the needle row (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
