The signal filter is used for filtering a signal which continuously transmits a time-variable measurement value and contains an interfering noise component. The simplest embodiment of the signal filter, which is preferably constructed with the aid of a microprocessor, is the low-pass filter shown in the form of an equivalent circuit in Figure 2. The unfiltered signal supplied to the signal filter via the signal input 11 is conducted to the signal output 19 via the low-pass filter 5. The high-frequency signal power component measured with the aid of the low-pass filter 6 following the low-pass filter 5 and suppressed by the signal filter, together with the output signal of the signal filter, controls the cut-off frequencies of the low-pass filters 5 and 6 in such a manner that the output signal does not contain any interfering noise component and that the suppressed high-frequency signal power component essentially only consists of noise power. <IMAGE>
