A safety discharge valve for appliances used for dispensing liquids or gases, e.g. metering appliances, dispensing appliances etc., with an elastically loaded valve element, e.g. valve ball, in a valve housing and with a connected dispensing nozzle is to be designed in such a way that liquid or gas is reliably prevented from escaping if the associated dispensing nozzle has been inadequately secured or is absent altogether. According to the invention, this is achieved by means of a second valve element (6) at the delivery end of the housing (2) and by means of projections (9) of a pushing means on the housing end of the dispensing nozzle (8) for pushing the second valve element off an associated valve seat when the dispensing nozzle is firmly connected. <IMAGE>
