A stator (1) (Figure 1) for a stepping motor or a synchronous motor consists essentially of an iron-powder/plastic mixture, the iron powder being distributed inhomogeneously and being concentrated especially in the pole teeth (3) and the magnetic return paths (10). During production, this can be brought about by the external influence of a suitably directed magnetic field as long as the iron-powder/plastic mixture can still be deformed. In addition, as a combination measure, outlet openings for iron powder and/or a mixture of plastic and iron powder which is greatly enriched with iron powder and, in the remaining region, outlet openings for plastic which is at least largely free of iron powder can be provided in a suitable form for accommodating the iron-powder/plastic mixture in the region of the pole teeth (3) and the magnetic return paths (10). A complete stator (1) which at the same time essentially also forms the motor housing, may consist of three main parts. <IMAGE>
