PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of network error by changing the address of one's own station so long as an address duplicated message is received. CONSTITUTION:A station going to apply address setting uses a main control section 3 to generate an acknowledgement message of an address to be set and sends it to other station of the network. The station receiving the address acknowledgement message uses the main control section 3 to generate an address to a random number generator 2, sets it in an address register 5, generates an address acknowledgement message, gives a command to a communication control section 4 to compare it with the address of one's own station and when the result is coincident, an address duplicated message is returned. The station setting the address sends the address acknowledgement message to other station while the address is being changed until the address duplicated message is not returned to set the address.
