PURPOSE:To form dense phosphate films having uniform quality at a high speed by immersing bar-shaped works into a phosphate soln. and rotating the same so that the phosphate soln. is stirred by the rotation of the works themselves and is forcedly brought into contact with the surfaces of the works. CONSTITUTION:Iron cam shafts 10 as the bar-shaped works of a phosphate treatment device 1 provided with posts 5, 5 for lifting a holding frame 4 immersed in the phosphate soln. 2 in a treatment vessel 3 are inserted at one end into holding holes 12 of the above-mentioned holding frame 4, are erected in a vertical direction and are held freely rotatably. The cam shafts 10 are rotated around the axial center in the phosphate soln. 2 as a flat belt 13 engaging with a sprocket 12 provided to the bottom end thereof is driven by an electric motor 15. The phosphate soln. 2 is stirred by such rotation and is brought into forcedly contact with the surface of the cam shafts 10. The foam H of hydrogen sticking to the surface of the cam shafts 10 is thereby removed and the phosphate soln. 2 is brought into contact with corner parts, etc., by which the film is efficiently formed.
