PURPOSE:To obtain a small-sized electromechanical transducer by arranging plates to enclose a bobbin with yokes and forming a magnetic path between the plates and a pair of magnets and thereby driving the bobbin according to electric signals that flow in a driving coil. CONSTITUTION:A pair of permanent magnets 5 and 6, yokes 7 and 8 and plates 9 and 10 constitute the magnetic circuit 14 of an electromechanical transducer, and the magnetic circuit 14 generates magnetic flux. Plates 9 and 10 are in contact with respective end face of yokes 7 and 8 provided in contact with magnetic pole face of S poles of permanent magnets 5 and 6, and plate 9 and 10 are magnetized to S pole. Accordingly, magnetic fluxes of circular arcuate form parallel to the plane of a lens holder 1 that go from respective pole face of N pole of permanent magnets 5 and 6 toward plates 9 and 10 respectively are generated. The sectional area of plates 9 and 10 of the optical pickup is set to generate magnetic fluxes.
