PURPOSE:To enhance sharpness by incorporating a specified means in a layer containing a yellow coupler specified in structure and/or an emulsion layer different in color sensitivity from said layer to form an unsharp positive image in combination with said layer. CONSTITUTION:The means for forming an unsharp positive image is contained in at least one of photosensitive silver halide emulsion layers formed on a layer containing the yellow coupler represented by the formula shown on the right and/or the silver halide emulsion layer different in color sensitivity from said layer, and said means forms the unsharp positive image in combination with said layer or layers. In said formula, each of R<1>-R<3> is H, halogen, carbamoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, sulfamoyl, or the like; each of R<4>-R<7> is H, alkyl, acylamino, sulfonamide, or the like; W is halogen, alkyl, aryloxy, dialkylamino, or the like; and X is H or a releasable group, thus permitting the obtained photosensitive material to be superior in sharpness and good in sensitivity and gradation. |
