PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer recorder capable of applying an appropriate tension on a transfer medium according to the size of the medium, by providing a support shaft for a rolled form transfer medium with a plurality of supporting surfaces having different coefficient of friction, and selecting the supporting surfaces to be used according to the size of the transfer medium to be mounted. CONSTITUTION:A winding core 1a for an ink sheet 1 with a B4 size width has both ends supported by support shafts 11, 12. The support shaft 11 is provided with a first supporting surface 11a and a second supporting surface 11b which have different coefficient of friction. The first supporting surface 11a of the shaft 11 is pressed against an inner surface 9b of a truncated cone form hole provided in a spindle 9, thereby supporting the winding core 1a. When mounting an ink sheet with an A4 size width, a spindle 9 provided with a truncated cone form hole into which the second supporting surface 11b of the shaft 11 can be fitted is fitted to an end of a winding core 1a for the ink sheet, and the second supporting surface 11b is pressed against an inner surface 9b of the hole, thereby supporting the winding core 1a. In this case, a spacer 13 for compensating for the difference between the B4 size width and the A4 size width is fitted to the other end side of the winding core 1a.
