<p>The hydraulic actuator (6) of a spreading brake incorporates an automatic slack adjuster (20) of the 'one-shot' type which acts between the two piston (11, 12). The adjuster (20) can be re-set by manipulation of a release member (33, 35) which cooperates with, or forms a part of, a bleed screw (30) screwed into a radial bore (31) in the wall of the cylinder (9).</p> |
