<p>A parenteral fluid medication pump comprises a reservoir (12) filled with a fluid medication (22), and a needle (28) insertable into a patient. The medication is continuously discharged in small doses over an extended time period through the needle into the patient. The continuous discharge is obtained by elastic walls (14) for the reservoir which seek to return toward an original unexpanded position, or by the expansion of a compressible gas (80) within a rigid-walled reservoir (72). </p> |
