<p>The quantizer circuit is acyclic, i.e. independent of any clock frequency, allows continuous and instantaneous quantizing of an incoming signal and offers a high operating speed. It comprises cells (C0, CI-1) for detecting an instantaneous voltage of the incoming signal in consecutive intervals of voltage. Through a logic state differing from that of the outputs of the other cells, an output (BSi) of one (Ci) of the cells signals an instantaneous voltage lying in the interval associated with the said cell. Each cell includes only a few discrete electronic components so as to offer a speed of conversion greater than a MHz. <IMAGE></p> |
