PURPOSE:To increase cooling effect, unnecessitate the nip of a roll and improve the operability of the title device by spraying atomized liquid against the surface of a sheet in molten state. CONSTITUTION:An atomizing device 10 is provided near a first cooling roll 4 at the opposite roll side. The atomizing device 10 is provided with a supersonic oscillator 11 on the bottom of a vessel filled with liquid 12 and sprays the atomized liquid 15 against the surface of the molten sheet 8 by a fan 13. In order to increase the adhering efficiency of the atomized liquid to the sheet, an electrode 14, applied with high D.C. voltage, may be arranged at the outlet of the atomizing device. Gas, evaporated between the atomizing device 10 and the sheet, is discharged to the outside of a room by an exhaust blower 16 through a discharging pipe 20a. Mixture of water and the small amount of alcohol can be used as the liquid 12, however, basically water is enough. A plurality of the atomizing devices 10 may be provided in accordance with cooling condition and a second roll 5 can be provided at the opposite side of the atomizing device 10 in order to promote cooling. |
