PURPOSE:To facilitate the data reversible compression processing when the frequency of appearance of data 0-5 is very high by representing the data of decimal display form by a prescribed data string. CONSTITUTION:As to '0' and positive number of the decimal representation form, 0-5 are represented as it is as a 3-bit data as shown in a data 10 in figure. Number 6-63 are represented by a data string comprising 20 (110) and its succeeding 6-bit. Number 64-511 are represented by a data string comprising data 30 (111) and its succeeding 9-bit. Number 511 and over are represented by a data string comprising a data string (data 30 and 9-bit data 40) representing 511 and its succeeding prescribed data. Thus, the reversible compression processing of data are facilitated when the frequency of appearance of data 0-5 is very high.
