PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive material high in sensitivity by incorporating silver halide grains spectrally sensitized by at least one of sensitizing dyes having specified 2 types of structures in an emulsion layer. CONSTITUTION:High spectral sensitivity to green or red can be obtained without increasing a silver halide grain volume by incorporating in the emulsion layer, silver halide grains having crystal faces of (nn1) on the surface of each grain and spectrally sensitized by at least one of the sensitizing dyes represented by formula I and II in which Y is -NR2-, -O-, or -S-; each of R1-R3 is alkyl or alkenyl; R6 is halogen, acyl, or the like, each of R4, R5, and R7 is H, F, alkyl, or the like; when R6 is a substituent except Cl, R4 may be Cl; each of (R5 and R7) and (R7 and R8) may combine with each other to form a ring; X<-> is an anion; q is 1 or 2; R is a lower alkyl, alkoxy, or heterocyclic group; each of Z<1> and Z<2> is an atomic group necessary to form a benzothiazole ring, naphtothiazole ring, or the like; each of l, m, and n is 1 or 2; each of R9 and R$10 is alkyl; X<-> is an anion; and r is 1 or 2. |
