PURPOSE:To obtain the titled highly reliable head which is never deformed, deteriorated, and broken by forming the thin film of an adhesive for bonding core halves consisting essentially of a lead-tin alloy, added with a small amt. of an element having a high affinity for oxygen, and having the m.p. lower than the m.p. of a glass layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording/reproducing head 1 and the magnetic gaps 9 and 21 of an erasing head 2 consist essentially of a coated silicon dioxide film 28 provided on the sides 12, 15, 24, and 27 of a magnetic thin film, and the thin film 29 of a nonmagnetic adhesive for bonding the coated silicon dioxide films 28. The thin film 29 of the adhesive consisting essentially of a lead-tin alloy, added with a small amt., or 0.5-10wt%, of an element having a high affinity for oxygen such as zinc, titanium, silicon, and aluminum, and having the m.p. lower than the m.p. of the glass layers 8 and 20 is used.
