PURPOSE:To reduce a temperature difference between magnetic disks, to suppress a thermal off track quantity due to the temperature difference between the magnetic disks, and to reduce a malfunction in the recording and reproduction of the information, by using a spacer ring having two kinds or more of aperture areas. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetic disk 8 is rotated with a spindle 3 by driving a monitor, a carriage 5, in case of receiving a positioning command from a host device, performs a seek operation indicated by a positioning control circuit, and performs the recording or the reproduction of the information with a magnetic head 9 at commanded and prescribed position. The areas of the aperture 11a of spacer rings 11 arranged at the uppermost and the lowermost stages are made different from that of the aperture 10a of a spacer ring 10, and thereby, the temperature difference between the magnetic disk 8 generated due to the difference in the windage loss and the heat radiation of the magnetic disk 8, can be reduced. In this way, the thermal off track quantity caused by the temperature difference between the magnetic disks 8, can be suppressed and the malfunction in the recording and the reproduction of the information can be reduced.
