<p>A colour cathode ray tube (11) includes a screen (15), a shadow mask and an electron gun section. The electron gun section comprises a plurality of separate unit electron guns (27,29,33). The screen is divided into a plurality of subregions (73,75,77,79) each of which is scanned by an individual unit electron gun. Each unit electron gun emits a single electron beam and in associated with an individual main deflection device for causing the beam to scan the electron gun's particular subregion of the screen and subsidiary deflection means (45,47,51) for effecting electron beam colour switching. </p> |
