PURPOSE:To generate various sentences by setting whether or not a justify processing is to be executed at every line unit. CONSTITUTION:The information of left/right margin and the need of justify of each line is stored in a format memory 5. A CPU 2, while referencing the format information, applies edition processing the sentence data inputted sequentially. The edition processing is a conventional processing and a character code inputted sequentially from a KEY 1 is stored in a sentence memory 4 via the CPU 2 and stored in an output buffer while the format memory 5 is being referenced. When an F stored in the table of an inputted line is set, an input character overrides the hot zone and its character is a space, the CPU 2 applies automatic line carrying while using the character inputted next as the character of next line. Further, when the inputted character overrides the hot zone and no space is inputted and the character exceeds the margin, hyphenation is applied and the character exceeding the margin is used as the character on the next line and the line is carried automatically.
