PURPOSE:To perform the detection of a grain state with enhanced durability and reliability, by providing a detection means, which consists of a collision plate with which grain recirculated collides and a piezoelectric element supported in a hermetically closed space in a state displaceable in the vibration direction of the collision plate, on the way of the recirculation of grain. CONSTITUTION:A recirculation type grain dryer 2 has a storage part 4, a drying part 6 and a grain collection part 8 and the grain lifted by a grain lifter 10 is laterally fed by an upper lateral feed mechanism 12 to be dropped in the storage part 4. The grain is dried by the drying part 6 and collected in the grain collection part 8 to be laterally fed to the lower part of the grain lifter 10 and this recirculations is again repeated to perform drying. A detection means 18 is provided on the way of recirculation and demarcates a hermetically closed space 28 formed of a housing 20, a cover 22 and a plate shaped member 24 of which a part forms a collision plate 26 with which vibration direction is held and supported between the housing 20 and the cover 22 in the space 28. By this method, durability and reliability are enhanced to enable the detection and judge of a grain state.
