PURPOSE:To easily produce a product having rectangular corners, especially a globe of lighting fixture, by heating a hollow molten glass parison before inserting into a blow-molding mold and rotating the mold containing the hot parison. CONSTITUTION:The amount of molten glass 1 heated at about 800 deg.C and used usually for the forming of a glove is increased from the standard amount by 50%. The molten glass is put into a receiving pan 2 and blasted with air to form a hollow parison of molten glass. The parison is heated at 850 deg.C for 1min e.g. by passing through a flame 3 and inserted into a forming mold. The mold 4 is closed and the table 5 supporting the mold 4 is rotated at 1,000-2,700rpm for 30sec with a rotary shaft 6 while blasting hot air into the mold. The molten glass is pressed especially into the corner parts by the rotation. Accordingly, the edge between the side wall and the bottom face is finished to rectangular form following the cavity of the mold and the wall thickness and massive feeling of the corner part can be increased to achieve beautiful prism effect. A glass vessel having rectangular corners and furnished with a socket mouth can be produced by this process.
