PURPOSE:To make it possible to suppress back fire produced at the time of using the burner for a long period of time or at the time of using denatured kerosene and to facilitate the adjustment of thermal power by blocking an interface gap which is formed at the interface portion of a wick by a block provided at an intermediate portion of an interface part. CONSTITUTION:A block 20 is formed protuberantly by aluminum, for example, on the side of a wick guide cylinder 11 of a space 14 between a wick guide cylinder 11 and a burner backet 12. In a burner provided with a split type wick, when wicks 13a and 13b are lowered, a block 20 moves within cutaway portions 19a and 19b, inclined surfaces 21a and 21b come into contact with inclined surfaces 18a and 18b and blocks a gap G thereby to form the inclined surfaces 18a and 18b symmetric to the cutaway portions 19a and 19b capable of preventing back fire. On the upper surface of the block 20, inclined surfaces 21a and 21b are formed symmetrically to the inclined surfaces 21a and 21b corresponding thereto. Even if there is a slight dimensional error, the gap G can be blocked positively because the central upper end of the block 19 comes to the position of the gap G.
