PURPOSE:To heighten the efficiency of output and simplify a mechanism for suppressing unnecessary radiation from a cathode, by connecting a microwave energy lead-out wire directly to a strap ring located at the central portion of a vane nearer the wall of an anode cylinder, and by placing the strap ring nearly at the center of the vane in the axial direction of the anode cylinder. CONSTITUTION:A lead-out wire 17 is connected to two vanes 14b, 14d through a strap ring 16. Microwave energy is led out by an electrical current based on a magnetic field change which is the sum of the potential change of both the vanes 14b, 14d, a magnetic field change in a region defined by the lead-out wire 17, the strip ring 16, the vane 14b and the inside surface of an anode cylinder 13, a portion of a magnetic field change in a region defined by the lead-out wire 17, the strap ring 16, a vane 14c and the inside surface of the anode cylinder 13 and a portion of a magnetic field change, which takes place in a region defined by the strap ring 16, the vane 14c, the inside surface of the anode cylinder 13 and the vane 14d and is coupled to the lead-out wire 17 by the strap ring 16 through the penetrative holes 26 of the strap ring. As a result, a high-efficiency output characteristic is achieved.
