PURPOSE:To enable recording even when the signal of one line exceeds a recording area, by storing a plurality of video signals corresponding to the arbitrary one line in an image obtained and successively reading the same. CONSTITUTION:The image data measured in water is displayed on a TV monitor 7 and the data of one line to be recorded in a depth-of-water direction among the data from a scanning conversion part 4 is stored in a memory 20 by the order of an operation panel 5. A reading circuit 21 receives a timing pulse showing the beginning of recording scanning in the direction shown by an arrow (b)- from a timing detector 35 and successively sends out the read pulse to the memory 20 in matching relation to the recording speed of a recorder 30. By this method, digital data is converted to a recording signal through a D/A converter 22 and a multiplier 23 to be supplied to a recording pen 32. As a result, the image of one line is recorded on recording paper 31.
