PURPOSE:To increase the opening ratio of the electron beam transmission openings of a color selection electrode, by sticking a reinforcing film to the electrode before attaching the electrode to a support frame, and removing the film from the electrode after attaching the electrode to the support frame. CONSTITUTION:A color selection electrode 4 is only curved so that the electrode is tightly supported on a support frame 5 to have a prescribed curved surface. Before the electrode 4 is attached to the frame 5, namely after or before a thin metal plate is provided with an electron beam transmission openings 4a, thin metal plate is provided with a reinforcing film 10 stuck to one side of the thin metal plate to cover at least the total region of the openings 4a, for instance to cover the whole area. The film 10 is flexible and has such tenacity as to reinforce the electrode 4, and also it can be easily removed from the electrode 4 after the electrode 4 is attached to the frame 5.
