PURPOSE:To constitute a trace memory of a small-sized memory device with a few input pins by providnig a means which converts history information on parallel data extracted from respective parts of an electronic computer system in operation to serial data and transmits the information and a trace memory which stores data while converting the serial data to the parallel data. CONSTITUTION:The serial data on a serial data input line 1 is converted to the parallel data by a serial/parallel converting circuit 12 started with a control signal S, and is stored in a memory main body part 11 which is operable, receiving the control signal S by an enable terminal EN. For reading the collected history information, the storage part of a readout object is read and specified through a selecting signal line 6, and an access control part 3 is commanded to read the information through a read command line 7. Receiving the read command, the access control part 3 controls the reading of the history information readout on a serial data output line 4 through a parallel/serial converting circuit 13 from the memory main body part 11 of one storage part specified through the readout seleciting signal line 6.
