PURPOSE:To improve the function of uniform flow distribution function for a fluid to be evaporated in a heat exchanger by fitting a cylindrical header with many small holes pierced through it along the direction of the axis into the circumferential wall face in the introduction hole for a fluid to be evaporated which is pierced in the upper section of many heat transmitting plates. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical header 4 is fitted into the introduction hole 3 for a fluid to be evaporated as an adjusting member for the distribution of flow rate of the fluid to be evaporated. The header 4 has many small holes 4n pierced along the direction of the axis on its circumferential face at an equal distance among them. The fluid to be evaporated that is jetted out in the state of uniform flow distribution from the small holes 4n of the cylindrical header 4, after passing through a storage area and an overflow dam, flows downwards, maintaining substantially uniform flow rate distribution over the whole width of heat transmitting plates 2, 2..., along the face of the down stream in a thin film. During this passage the fluid loses its moisture through evaporation because of heat energy transmitted from a high temperature fluid which is flowing down in an adjacent passage.
