<p>PURPOSE:To contrive efficient recording by checking the ratio of a black signal so as to apply simultaneous drive or split drive depending on the black level ratio. CONSTITUTION:Lots of heaters 11 are arranged in a thermal head 10 as an array and split at every simultaneous heat number of the head. A distributor 12 is connected respectively to each split region. A picture signal of one line is stored in a RAM 23 of a control means 2. A CPU 21 obtains the ratio of black and white signals of the picture signal according to the program stored in a ROM 22 and a gate signal is generated according to the ratio, that is, simultaneous drive when (black signal X 100)/(white signal + black signal)<=25%, and 1/4 split drive when (black signal X 100)/(white signal + black signal)>25%. The gate signal operates the distributor 12 to apply the simultaneous drive and the 1/4 split drive of the thermal head 10. Thus, the efficient recording is attained.</p> |
