PURPOSE:To obtain reliable transport force with good accuracy without slip by providing a rubber portion which is lined in a groove portion and ground with a metallic portion in such a manner as to project over the metallic portion. CONSTITUTION:A rubber portion 12 is formed by rubber line in a groove portion 13 of a roller 11. The rubber portion 12 is ground with a metallic portion of the roller 11. Therefore, the rubber portion 12 is deformed due to elasticity to have a large relief at the central part and have a small relief at a portion adhering to the metal, so that after grinding, the rubber portion is formed like a drum. As the rubber portion is thus pressed at the time of grinding and deformed to have a relief, the rubber portion is projected over the metallic surface 11a at the time of restoration. Accordingly, when a paper sheet is fed by the roller, the rubber portion is deformed to be in the same level with the metallic surface by pressing force to conduct paper feeding operation with high frictional force, and the paper feed is determined by the outside diameter of the metallic portion.
