NEW MATERIAL:A compound selected from T-23-XII of formula I (Rf=0.31), T-23-XIII of formula II (Rf=0.30) and T-23-XIV (Rf=0.29). USE:Medicine. It has antitumor activity and is expected to be used as an antitumor agent. PREPARATION:Streptomyces rishiriensis T-23 strain (FERM-6141) is cultured in a usual manner, the culture mixture is separated into the cell bodies and the supernatant. The active fraction is extracted from cell bodies with a mixed solvent, absorbed on the nonionic ion-exchange resin and eluted. In the meantime, the active fraction is directly extracted with an organic solvent. Both of the extracts are united, extracted with a solvent immiscible with water, concentrated and the active fraction is allowed to precipitate by an aliphatic hydrocarbon solvent. The precipitate is adsorbed on a colume filled with silica gel and extracted with a mixed solvent to collect the T-23-I containing fraction. Further, solvent extraction is continued to collect white powders of compounds of formulas I, II and III. |
